requisites for residency
For all residency types there are documents that you need to obtain in your home country. The first three documents mentioned have to be stamped & authenticated by both the athority who issued them ánd the Costa Rican Consulate in the country of which the documents were issued.

    For any kind of application you will need:
  • Police Certificate: Certificate of lack of police reports, issued by competent authority in your country. This document will only have a 6 months validity after the date of issuance.
  • Marital Status Certificate: Issued by competent authority in the county where you were born or married.
  • Birth Certificate: Issued by competent authority in the county where you were born.
  • Photocopy of passport (all pages)
  • Five front view photos-passport size.
  • Fingerprints: Fingerprints will be taken at the Police Archive from the Security Ministry of Costa Rica (San José).
